“Jaga Jaga” Is Evergreen But Life Span Of The Present Generation Songs Is About 3 Months – Eedris Abdulkareem Brags

Veteran Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem has spoken on the high rate of regular and meaningless songs dominating the Nigerian music industry today.

In an interview with LIB, the controversial rapper says any song that is only about grooving and clubbing, has a life span of three to four months.

He said:

‘Music needs to have meaning and should be able to add value to the lives of people, not just about dance and shake booty. Any song that is strictly about dance and shake booty, the life span is about three to four months.’

‘This is why we should be able to have classic songs. I dropped ‘Jaga Jaga’ 15 years ago and it’s still there, it’s evergreen.’

Eedris Abdulkareem who made his way into the music scene in 1996, is behind hit songs such as ‘Jaga Jaga’, ‘Mr. Lecturer’ and ‘Letter to Mr. President’ among many others.
