€40m Chelsea, Tottenham target looking to future with AC Milan

Chelsea may have to look elsewhere for a midfield powerhouse after target Franck Kessie pledged his commitment to AC Milan.
Reports from English paper the Daily Star claimed earlier this week that Chelsea are now demanding that Kessie is “immediately resold to them if any deal for Tiemoue Bakayoko is to be completed”.
Corriere dello Sport meanwhile claimed that Milan were considering selling the Ivorian to help Financial Fair Play and fund Bakayoko’s permanent €35m summer move.
Bakayoko joined Milan in a season-long loan deal over the summer after struggling for adapt to life in the Premier League with Chelsea.
After a tough start with Milan, Bakayoko has now rediscovered the form that first persuaded Chelsea to shell out £35m to sign the midfielder from Monaco in summer 2017 to become one of the Rossoneri’s most consistent performers.
However, Kessie – speaking ahead of his return to former club Atalanta – seems happy at San Siro.
“I have five years left on my contract and I’m here,” he told SportMediaset.
“We have a great coach who’s doing well and we’re all with him. I feel good and I want to keep dreaming of taking Milan back into the Champions League.
“I’m very happy to come back to Bergamo,” he added. “I have to go there as an opponent but it’s still beautiful, at the same stadium, with their fantastic fans.
“It was special to score there last season, but I didn’t celebrate and I’d do the same again.”
Last month il Corriere dello Sport claimed an offer of €40million (£35.6m) would persuade Atalanta to sell the midfielder, who is also wanted by Tottenham
