N’Golo Kante ‘TOO HUMBLE To Question Chelsea Position’ Under Sarri

Former Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit has questioned Maurizio Sarri’s use of N’Golo Kante this season, and says Jorginho “isn’t the right fit for the Premier League.”

Sarri has been criticised for his relocation of Kante following his summer purchase of Jorginho, who he also worked with at Napoli.

The Brazil-born Italy international has taken up residence in the centre of midfield, forcing Kante into a more attack-minded position.
But the 27-year-old had shone in a deeper role ever since arriving in English football with Leicester City in 2015, winning the Premier League in his first two campaigns as well as the PFA Players’ Player of the Year in 2016/17 – his first season at Chelsea .

“Sarri’s decision to move Kante away from his original position, where he was probably the best in the world over the past two or three years, surprised me,” Petit told Paddy Power News.
“Kante says he’s learning and taking pleasure in this new position.
“He doesn’t want to make waves – we all know in France how humble Kante is, so he will never cause trouble.

“But can anyone explain why you move Kante out of his best position in favour of Jorginho?”

Petit – who played 76 games for Chelsea between 2001 and 2004 – went on to criticise the signing of Jorginho, who has made the most passes of any player in the Premier League this season without registering an assist.
“I’d never heard of Jorginho before he went to Chelsea, and I’ve nothing against him, but he isn’t the right fit for the Premier League,” he said.

“When you have players who play so well in a certain position, why would you move them somewhere else?”
