Police in Jigawa State says 119 persons were killed while 223 persons injured in a different motor accident across the state in 2019.
The State Commissioner of Police, Usman Sule Gomna stated this while briefing newsmen at the command headquarters in Dutse.
He said 213 cases of accident were recorded from January to December 2019.
” Some accident victims burned got beyond recognition while others died as a result of various degrees of injuries,” he stated.
Gomna explained that out of the number recorded during the period under review, 97 were fatal cases, 65 serious cases while 51 were minor cases.
The commissioner said most of the accidents were recorded as a result of driver’s dangerous overtaking and overloading.
He warned road users against violating traffic regulations.
